Watch the video from Pastor Chris Hill here, then walk through the study below.

Key Verse:  “Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" Matthew 14:27-31

  • Faith isn’t faith unless it is tested.  Do you agree with Chris?  Why or why not?

  • It is easy to have faith when everything is going well.  Why is true faith revealed when our life is stressed out?

  • Has there been a circumstance recently that has caused your faith to waver?  What happened and how have you responded?

  • Read Matthew 14:22-33.  Peter wanted to believe and have faith, but what happened?  What was Jesus’ response to Peter?

  • Chris used the analogy of Peter not walking on the water, but on Jesus’ words.  How do you need to walk on His words in your life?

  • Storms of life are all around us, and how we respond to the storms determines our faith.  What storms are raging in your personal life?  How is your faith standing strong?

  • Pray that your faith will be strong in the storms of life so you can walk on His word and hold on to your faith.
