Ready “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.” - Jeremiah 33:3
Set Isn’t it funny how when something good or bad happens to us unexpectedly and we’re surprised by the news, we want to tell somebody? “You’re not going to believe what just happened!” Or, “I can’t believe this!” Whatever the situation may be, whether in life or in sports, most of us have a few people who we call immediately. Now, take note of that word “immediately.” This is not a situation that calls for a text message and then waiting for a response. We want quick feedback! But, what happens when you can’t get ahold of any of those people to share your news? It’s kind of a devastating feeling, isn’t it? You feel like the situation is of such importance and that it is about ready to burst out of you, and not being able to connect with someone can leave you feeling empty. Sometimes situations like these serve a greater purpose. In those moments, God reaffirms to us that, despite not being able to reach those closest to us, we’re not alone. He is always available, and He loves to hear from us. He wants us to share our bad news or circumstances and our good news and praises with Him. Because He loves us, He is always there, just waiting on our call.
Go 1. Where is God on your list of immediate calls? 2. How often do you call on Him? 3. What keeps you from going to Him first with your news and circumstances? 4. How would it change your life if He was your first contact?
