Romans 8:6
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;

Hockey Chat: A goalie’s skill is part physical and part mental.  The better physical shape they are, the better they can make quick moves to cover the net.  But the most important thing to do is to keep focused.  They keep in control and keep their mind clear of all the commotion going on all around them.  If they give into it, they’ll be off their game and out of place.

Life Lesson:  To be wrapped up in sinful thoughts leads to sinful life of despair and death.  That doesn’t mean that you can keep tempting thoughts away.  But how you deal with them when they come up shows where you heart is. The key word in this verse is “control”.  What are you opening up your mind to that slips into it to take control?  If you spend time on provocative TV programs or websites, you will struggle with lustful thoughts.  If you spend time in places that serve an abundance of alcohol you’ll struggle with drunkenness.  If you allow your time to be used for Christ on spiritual websites or programs and in the presence of other Christians in more productive places, you will feel the Spirit fill your life with peace.
