Contagious Consistency

Ready

“For his faithful love to us is great; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Hallelujah!!”—Psalm 117:2

Set

I remember one teammate in college who was more consistent and faithful to her team than any other teammate I’d ever had. During practice, she was a focused leader who challenged us with her incredible work ethic and consistency. In four years, she missed only one practice because of an injury. Yet, she still worked out on the stationary bike while she watched the team practice. She sweat more than we did that day as we practiced on the court! She inspired me to be a more committed player and teammate.

Her commitment to her team reminds me of God’s incredible faithfulness to His people since the beginning of time. From Genesis to Revelation, God remained faithful to His people even when they turned their backs on Him—even when the crowd of people cried, “Crucify Him!” at Jesus’ trial before Pilate. At all times, God is faithful to us through the work of the Holy Spirit in and among us. When we whole-heartedly believe this truth, our gratitude and love for God grows, and we are moved to be more committed and faithful to Him and His kingdom.

It’s easy to lose focus on Jesus. We must seek to help one another remember God’s faithfulness. Our consistency will be contagious!

Thank You, God, for Your faithfulness to Your people in every moment throughout history. Help me to remember Your faithfulness and show me how You can use me today to demonstrate Your faithfulness to others. Amen.
