Echoes of His Goodness

Ready

“The Lord said to Paul in a night vision, “Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent.” –  Acts 18:9

Set

A rival game is an intense environment. You have two sides shouting, chanting and rooting for their teams. Stadiums are known for memorable athletic moments, but more so for the echoes of fans’ support and love.

As Christians, we are on God’s team and commanded to speak about God. Jesus’ last words in Matthew 28:19 were, “Go and make disciples…” God is telling us to shout, scream and cheer on the good news of salvation to all who believe. But how do we do this?

Let Paul’s life be an example to us all. Paul was Saul before he encountered God. He lived a life of darkness and opposition to God. However, when he encountered God, Saul was changed forever, got a new name, and began telling everyone about God. Paul simply told others his testimony and shared God’s Word. But it wasn’t easy for Paul. We read in Acts how hard it was. That is why God encouraged Him, saying, “Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent.” (Acts 18:9)

Paul was known for many great things, but most importantly, for always speaking about God no matter what. When we share our testimony, how God saved us and how He can save others, we are just like Paul.

We should share our testimonies no matter what, just like a stadium of fans echoing their love and support for their team.

Go
  • What is the testimony God gave you?
  • How does sharing our story help others hear God’s gospel?
  • Who can you share your testimony with today? Your friends, co-workers or teammates?
Overtime

“God, You’ve given me a story to share. Give me the confidence, boldness and passion to always speak of what You’ve done for me and what You can do for others. Let me never be silent! Amen.”
