Go All-Out
By Luke Benward
-Colossians 3:23
Losing is hard. And it certainly makes it difficult for us when it comes to practice. We find it hard to put forth any kind of real effort when aren’t seeing results. But, do we realize that in everything we do, we are to work as hard as we can for the Lord? Even when we’re losing, we must commit to giving it our all. No matter what our record is, we are still supposed to represent Christ in our effort. Even during those last sprints at the end of practice, we must go all-out. Because, in the end, the cramps fade, the stomach ache subsides, and we make God smile. We also get stronger in our faith by allowing Him to help us see Him as our ultimate audience.
This year, I will start high school, and I am expecting some more wins. But even if my team continues to lose, I will continue to giving my all on the field. Why? Because I know who my real audience is, and I will trust Him for the rewards of the hard work and the heart committed to Him.
- Do you give your all in practice?
- Is it harder for you to practice hard when you are not winning games?
- Do you play for God or for men?
- What can you do to stay focused on Christ as your audience?
