Have Courage - Erwin McManus Study

Watch the video, then walk through the study below.

Key Verse:  "Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline." - Proverbs 1:7

  • How has fear gripped your life?  What areas in your life have you been fearful?

  • Erwin McManus acknowledges his own lack of courage, but where does he get his strength from each day?

  • “Courage is not the absence of fear; courage is the absence of self.”  What does that quote mean to you?

  • Read Proverbs 1:7.  What does it mean to fear the Lord?

  • Whatever you fear you are subject to.  Fearing the Lord is being subject to Him.  How do you need to fear the Lord more in your life?

  • Joshua 1:9 teaches us to be strong and courageous.  When fear sets in, what encouragement do you gain from this verse?

  • Pray today that God will give you courage to overcome the fears in your life and learn to fear the Lord more than people or things.
