Professional Witness
Ready:
"For you will be a witness for Him to all people of what you have seen and heard."

I'm sure you've seen the commercial that states, "Amateurs work until they get it right. Professionals work until they can't get it wrong." I admire athletes like Troy Polamalu, who stays on the practice field perfecting his defensive moves long after the rest of the team has hit the showers. Instead of being satisfied with being "good enough," he tries to practice until he can't get it wrong.
This makes me wonder about my own life. When sharing my faith, am I an "amateur witness" or a "professional witness"? Do I share my faith with people just enough to make myself feel good or often enough to make it a natural act? Unfortunately, I often shy away from sharing my faith with others when given the opportunity. I fail to practice sharing the Word with those who need to hear it, justifying my actions (or inactions) by praying that my lifestyle be witness enough. Most often, though, people benefit more from hearing the spoken Word.
Yes, a lived testimony is powerful, but be careful not to give in to the fear that comes with sharing Christ verbally. When the words come, just go with it and trust that God is with you. Eventually, you'll be a professional witness for Christ!

1. Does your practice/workout end as soon as you get the drill correct, or do you continue until you're confident that you can't get it wrong?
2. Do you witness to those who daily cross your path?
3. Is God asking you to be more vocal about your faith with anyone specifically? What do you need to do? Will you do it?
