All You Can Be
Ready:
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself—a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time.” - 1 Timothy 2:5-6
Set The movie "Invincible" tells the true story of former Philadelphia Eagles fan-turned-NFL-pro Vince Papale. After losing his job and his wife, Papale was told that he would never amount to anything, that he wouldn't make any money and that he wasn't going anywhere.
Has a coach ever told you, "You're not talented enough. You just won't make it."? Has a co-worker, spouse, friend or parent buried you in doubt?
In 1 Timothy, the Bible says that Jesus gave Himself as “a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time."
Even if the people around you don't believe in you and don't think you will amount to anything, God thinks otherwise. He watched as His only Son was savagely and brutally killed because He believed in you. Christ endured one of the most horrific deaths on a cross as a testimony to your potential.
The Creator of the Universe has a plan and a purpose for your life. Regardless of your situation, your city, your home, your family or your friends, God wants you to follow His plan. Can you imagine what your life would be like if you were doing exactly what God created you to do?
The lifelong Eagles fan Vince Papale wasn't supposed to make it to the NFL. He wasn't supposed to amount to anything. But in the end, he did make it onto the team. He played with the Eagles for three seasons and inspired an entire city.
Today, remember that Jesus Christ paid for you with His life as a testimony to what you can become.
Go 1. What do you think when people doubt you or tear you down?
2. How can you remind yourself that God does believe in you?
3. How can you discover what God created you for?
