Want to Boast?

Ready

“He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21

Set

When we see a phenomenal athlete compete or complete an incredible feat of athleticism, sometimes we see that athlete fist pump their chest, point to themselves, or yell out about how great they are. They boast in themselves and their ability.

We who have a living hope in our God, however, boast a little differently. We boast in the One who gave us breath, who climbed a hill to Calvary and hung on a cross to crush death and deliver us into eternal life.

It’s not about us and what we can do, but rather who Jesus is and what He e to accomplish on our behalf.

We couldn’t do anything to save ourselves from sin, so Jesus came to earth to take on sin and save us. By His death and resurrection, we are right standing with God, and He welcomes us into His family because He sees the blood of Christ.

When we most needed a come-through play, Jesus was the player God put in at crunch-time. His life on earth revealed God the Father, and through His death on the cross to take on our sin and reconcile us to God, and resurrection back to life, you can believe and receive what He did and be with Him forever. We boast in Jesus and how He has already done the work to save.

After living a sinless life and preaching the Good News on earth, Jesus allowed Himself to be sacrificed on the cross for the sins of the world.

Because of that sacrifice, you can be saved from the eternal death that the entire world deserves. For all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). All it takes to receive this gift is to call on the name of Jesus, believe He died for your sins, receive His forgiveness, turn away from your sins, and commit yourself to trusting God and obeying His Word.

Jesus has done enough for you. It’s time to receive His love and recognize how much He has done. We can simply believe and receive. The world may boast on their own achievements that won’t last. But we boast in Jesus.

Go
  • Have you accepted the gift of salvation Jesus came to give me? Will you accept Him today?
  • Will you tell someone today about the gift of salvation that Jesus offers?
  • Take time to talk to God about the gift Jesus gave through His death and resurrection.
Overtime

“Father, thank You for the gift You have given in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus! Thank You that He came to earth to save me from my sins and life with You. I place my hope in trust in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Today I repent and turn to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
