Have Hope

Ready

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” Hebrews 10:23

Set

During this trying time, it is hard to be hopeful. We can turn on our TVs or scroll through our social media feeds and constantly read bad news about what is going on in the world. Events have been canceled, school is being done online, and sports are on a total pause. The things each of us were looking forward to are all in jeopardy, and that disappointment is hard.

But as Christians, we are called to a greater hope. Not a hope in people, in healing, or restoration of this situation we find ourselves in, but of Jesus. We can look to Jesus as our solid foundation as we hope for life to go back to normal. We can have hope because God is faithful, and He can be trusted to keep His promises to us. During these times, we can trust Him because we have seen the character of God in His Word and even in our own lives if we look for it. He loves us, He sees us, He is for us, and He is with us; not even a global pandemic can change that!

Go
  1. What is something in this season you had to let go of? What can you see God doing in you because of the change in your schedule?
  2. What does hope mean to you?
  3. How can we live differently in these circumstances knowing that Jesus is our hope? How can you share that with those around you?

Overtime

“God, thank You that we get to live in hope during trying times because we know You are in control. Help me to cling onto that hope and share it with those around me. In the midst of disappointment, help me to desire to spend more time with You. Thank You that You love us more than we can imagine.”
