Our God Always Hears

Ready

“But I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.” – Micah 7:7

Set

During the heat of the game, it’s almost impossible to hear what your coach is trying to instruct you from the sidelines. You can see their mouth moving, but with all the noise, the words rarely meet your ears.

That’s why most coaches develop signs you can see rather than hear to help communicate during a game. Whether you play indoors and the crowd’s voices drown out the coach, or you are playing on a vast field where the voices don’t carry far, it’s always a struggle to hear your instructions.

Vise versa, I knew that my coaches were likely unable to hear me as I tried to communicate with them. At times, it left me feeling helpless and alone.

The beauty of Micah 7:7 is the true statement at the end: “My God will hear me” – not might but will hear. This statement is powerful because it’s full of assurances. It’s not some random god somewhere in the universe, but my God. This shows the strength of Micah’s personal relationship with God – a closeness to call Him his.

Then, we have the assurance that God will hear us.

In our prayers, it can often feel like God isn’t listening. Prayer can be a struggle in a world where we expect an immediate response. This is where our faith must be strong and remind us that our God does hear us. He may not answer how we want, but that doesn’t mean He doesn’t listen to us. He hears our cries and shouts for joy, pleas, and confession. There will never be a reason He can’t hear us, and He will never choose not to listen.

Go to God today with the assurance that He hears you.

Go
  • Do you struggle to believe that God hears you?
  • How can the assurance that God hears you change your prayer life?
Overtime

“God, thank You for being our God and desiring to listen to our prayers. You are always here for us in our good and bad times. Increase our prayer life so we can draw closer to You. Give us the confidence to know that You will always listen to our cries. Amen.”
