I MUST

Ready

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

Set

As a player, I knew one day I would have to put the basketball down, that my days competing at a high level would come to an end.

On that day, I would have to face the questions I avoided for so long. Those questions were: Who am I really? Why am I here? Where do I go from here? What do I do now? How do I do it? And When will I get the answers? SCARY! I loved basketball, but eventually, I found out basketball didn’t love me, in fact, basketball didn’t love anyone!

How could something that I loved so much, that I knew so much about, not love me in return? A few years later, in a weird way, God used basketball to connect me to my future wife (the love of my life), and then He used my future wife to connect me to Him! That day was amazing—Jesus, the God of the Universe, came into my life, an unchurched young man from the inner-city, to live inside of me. His incredible, indescribable love came and filled all the empty spots in my soul, but it didn’t stop there. He soon began to answer my questions, and one day while reading Acts 1, He showed me what I must do. Another way of putting it, He gave me my why!

Jesus fills us with power, an ability that unlocks the impossible and removes the “I can’t” to accomplish His will for our lives. His power gives us wisdom, courage and faith to accomplish infinitely more than our greatest request, to exceed our wildest dreams.

  • What power/gifting is inside of you?
  • Who are the people Jesus calls you to reach?
  • Where has Jesus called you to go?

Overtime

“Jesus blow our minds. Lord, You do more than I ever thought/dream You would ever do with our lives. Jesus, show us the people we must reach, the places we must go and the things we must do. Lastly, Lord, show us today how we can make someone’s life beautiful. Amen.”
