As Christians, it often can be too easy to get swept away in the busyness of our daily lives. Our regular practices, our usual schedule, and even our time spent in prayer with God or reading His Word can feel routine and mundane. As we go about the regular tasks of our day, we can even forget how great and how special it is to be on Team Jesus. No matter what team you play on or what team you choose to root for, as followers of Christ, we know well that being a part of Team Jesus is ultimately the best team to be on.

Being on Team Jesus takes faithfulness--it takes believing in God, repenting your sins, asking forgiveness, accepting His perfect grace, and devoting your entire life and heart to Jesus Christ. It’s the best decision you’ll ever make and a team that we should be thanking God for being on every day that passes. Being on Team Jesus changes your entire way of life; from waking up to going to sleep at night, it is more than just saying a prayer--it is a heart-changing lifestyle that is full of blessings. When we make the decision to be a part of Team Jesus, we enter into a personal relationship with the One who created us and knows us the best.

Being on Team Jesus means that we are free from the bondage and weight of our sin that once pulled us down. With Him, we get to experience mercy and freedom. Being on Team Jesus means that we have a Father, Protector, Comforter, Encourager, Leader, and Ultimate Coach that we can talk with 24/7. Being a part of Team Jesus means that we are loved perfectly and beyond any way of measurement because God’s love is abundant and never-ending. Being on Team Jesus means that there is a perfect plan for our lives filled with meaning, purpose, and joy. As the Greatest Coach Ever, Jesus is deserving of our hearts, our faithfulness, and our praise.

As an athlete on Jesus’ squad, rejoice in your position today!
