“Then he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’” – Mark 16:15

It is no surprise that the Kansas City Chiefs make headline articles and trend on social media platforms. They have Super Bowl titles, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and a famous head coach.

However, in September of 2023, they began trending for a reason not related to any of those. The internet broke when mega-pop superstar Taylor Swift appeared in the Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce’s skybox. The news spread like wildfire, and there wasn’t a single person with a social media account or access to a news channel who did not hear the news.

News spreads quickly nowadays with social media. As athletes, we can find stats, scores, college commitments and highlights with a click of a button. We live in a world where news spreads and is easily accessed by all. When someone has something to share or a message to get to everyone, they post it for all to see, read and hear.

As Christians, God has given us a message to share. This message is the Gospel, referred to as the “Good News.” Like the news in our world, the Good News of the Gospel is meant to be shared, discussed, talked about, posted, heard and spread. God tells us to take this Good News, tell the entire world and share it with all creation.

This seems like an impossible task. However, with God’s grace, guidance, power and strength, we can faithfully obey His command and get the news out.

If we talked about Jesus just like we did a celebrity at a football game, Jesus’ name would be known more than it is today.

“God, I want to be able to spread Your Good News like wildfire! Help me find ways to share Jesus with others on my team, in my school and all around me. I want Jesus’ name known! Amen.”
