There have been numerous sports studies on the financial wealth of pro athletes. Some studies have found that a surprising amount of pro athletes file for bankruptcy or struggle financially once they retire. Can you imagine that some of the world’s richest people end up going bankrupt?

On Earth, we must have at least some amount of money to buy things we need and sometimes things we want. But unfortunately, we are headed for a place where money can’t buy us anything. One day our soul will separate from our body, and we will appear before the throne of God completely bankrupt. No amount of money, good works, good vibes, or good thoughts will be able to get us anything.

The good news is that when we put our trust in Jesus as our perfect Savior, we are no longer empty-handed. We possess the most precious, priceless commodity in the universe–the blood of Jesus. Instead of us buying our way to Heaven, God does it for us with the blood of Jesus. When we make the decision to give Jesus 100% of our lives, we gain everything.
