VIP Access
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." -1 Peter 2:9
If you’ve ever attended a major sporting event, you’re familiar with the varying levels of access determined by your ticket or credentials. If you are fortunate enough to snag an all-access pass, you hold the golden ticket. From the locker room to the court or sidelines, you’re free to roam wherever your heart desires.
There is a huge difference between being a spectator and occupying a seat in the stands and being an insider who has full behind-the-scenes access to private, secret and coveted places.
Spectators observe, but VIPs experience. As Christians, God gives us VIP access to His presence so that we can genuinely know Him. He invites us into His secret places to sit with Him, offering us protection, rescue and rest. He doesn’t want us to be mere spectators—there’s so much more for us to experience! Christ’s death on the cross has lifted the veil that separated us from Him. We now have unlimited VIP access into the very presence of God because of the blood Jesus shed on the cross for our sins. He has set you apart as His chosen one.
“Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I stand up; you understand my thoughts from far away. You observe my travels and my rest; you are aware of all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue, you know all about it, Lord. You have encircled me; you have placed your hand on me.” - Psalms 139:1-5
God yearns for you to abide in His presence. He doesn’t just want you to watch from the sidelines; He wants you to be immersed in Him so that He can reveal Himself to you more every day. It’s time to stop spectating and experience all that God has for us. You have an all-access pass into the presence of your creator.
- How does it make you feel knowing you have full access to God?
- What are some practical steps can you take to move from being a spectator to experiencing God’s presence more deeply?
“Jesus, help us to truly know You as we seek Your face. Reveal Yourself to us and overflow us with Your presence today. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
